Born in Soviet Russia and raised in the warm lands of Ecuador with Latin culture influences, Dr. Kostioukhina currently resides in a sunny and metropolitan city of South Florida.
She completed her medical training at the University of Miami and currently works as a traveling doctor, exploring different hospitals throughout the US.
"The world of medicine has allowed me to see a special and often hidden side of humanity in the state of illness, decay and senescence. With my starched white coat, stethoscope in hand and brains in my head, I fight arduous battles to help my patients in their most difficult moments.
The going is tough and to recharge, I remind myself to stand still sometimes and appreciate the moment with gratitude for the opportunity to be with them and hold their hand. I long to capture those feelings and describe them to the world in the form of painting and prose."
