The surgeon stereotype is usually of a left brain dominant person, but this mentor is also a very talented artist, who paints beautiful landscapes. I attempt to capture both of his opposite but complimentary talents in this painting.

 

He is so deeply concentrated with his scalpel and on the science of surgical precision that it becomes his canvas and he an artist.
